My name is Cyrus Maunakea and I’m a videographer born and raised in Honolulu, HI and based out of San Diego, CA.
The first time I picked up a camera I had no idea how far it would take me and how much I’d enjoy capturing certain moments in my life. That was in high school. Over the last 7+ years I’ve been able to hone my skills through working with professionals in the field, bringing my creativity to nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and doing my own freelance work. In college, I worked as a video production assistant in the athletics department where I crafted my creative and technical skills through filming, directing and producing content surrounding our athletes. During my time there, I was nominated for 3 Emmy Awards and was the recipient of 2 awards for the content I created. I currently work at a company based out of Austin, TX where I oversee, end-to-end, the video production efforts. This includes idea generation, filming, editing, and posting on the website and social media accounts.
